Castelbigozzi is one of the oldest embattled castels of this area and it rises in the land of Strove. In the Middle Ages this castle belonged to the ancestor of the old and noble Montanini family. Its coats of arms well recounts its history: a red shield, like the land that surrounds it, a black lion, symbol of courage and battles, glory and defeats. Historical chronicles in fact report that it was a place of refuge and protection for Ghibelline troops. Today Castel Bigozzi is a tourist residence renovated maintainig the original elements of a 1200 structure and offers 14 suites all equipped with heating, air-conditioning, jacuzzi bathtub or shower, direct phone, satellite TV, safe, mini-bar. From Airport:
From Florence airport take the A1 in Roma direction and exit at FIRENZE CERTOSA. Turn right at the roundabout and enter the freeway in Siena's direction till the exit of MONTERIGGIONI. Right at the cross and take the first road on the right after the bar 8direction Colle Val d'Elsa) continue for about 1 Km and turn left in direction of STROVE. As you find the village of Strove on your right side, turn left to the "Strada di Bigozzi" and follow till the top of the hill.

From Station :
take a taxi to STROVE (there are no public means)

From Motorway:
Freeway Siena -Firenze Exit MONTERIGGIONI and follow direction for STROVE.
